Introduction

ONTRACK is part of KiwiRail Group (New Zealand Railways Corporation) a statutory corporation that covers all aspects of the rail and ferry business that are in public ownership.

As a statutory corporation we have share-holding Ministers. The NZRC Board reviews the Ministers’ expectations, expressed annually, and sets ONTRACK's direction. Our Senior Management Team is then tasked with following this direction and ensuring our 900 staff meet operational targets.

Our Governance structure changed recently as a result of the purchase by the Government of Toll NZ’s rail and ferry businesses.

New Zealand Railways Corporation (NZRC) Board

ONTRACK is a business unit of KiwiRail. KiwiRail (New Zealand Railways Corporation) has a board of seven directors, led by Rt Hon James Bolger.

ONTRACK currently has an executive team of seven, led by General Manager, Rick van Barneveld.
