Put Your Career on the Right Track
Now is the time to get your career on track by building your career in rail.
The rail industry is experiencing a renaissance in New Zealand - as it is around the world. Governments see the benefit of moving heavy freight off roads and onto rail. They also want commuters to leave their cars at home and take the train.
Recognition of the need to tackle global warming has reinforced rail’s case for a bigger slice of the transport pie.
In New Zealand, more than 800 people work for ONTRACK. We carry out a wide range of tasks. We provide rail operators access to the tracks to run their services. We control traffic on the network. Each week there are more than 900 freight and 3,000 passenger trains.
We maintain the rail network – the tracks themselves, the signals, tunnels, bridges and culverts and sleepers along 4,000 kilometres of railway line. We also look after ONTRACK’s extensive land and property holdings.
