ONTRACK Operations
ONTRACK operates New Zealand's railway network. We manage the movement of trains and maintain and upgrade the tracks, bridges and tunnels, and signals. Our regional and national offices work closely with our subsidiary, ONTRACK Infrastructure, to maintain and develop the network. ONTRACK has taken major steps towards improving the efficiency of the rail network. In the last two years we have replaced or improved over 750 metres of bridge, laid almost 70kms of new track and 170,000 sleepers. Various operators run trains on our network to transport freight and people. Here you can find out more about the North Island lines, what they carry, and how the rail network links to the South Island. Here you can find out more about the South Island rail lines, what they carry and how the North Island network links to the South Island.
