Our Projects - ONTRACK 

ONTRACK (New Zealand Railways Corporation) and partners celebrated the centenary of the North Island Main Trunk during 2008 – 2009.  The North Island Main Trunk line was New Zealand’s most important transport link for many years and has a significant place in New Zealand’s history. Completing the line was an engineering achievement of historical importance.  Rail Heritage Operators, rail enthusiasts and the many volunteers from the communities along the North Island Main Trunk played a huge part in the success of the celebrations.  ONTRACK thanks you all.

Work on electrifying the Auckland suburban network started in 2008. Electrification will mean quieter and more reliable train services, allowing rail to take a more prominent role in the region's transport mix.

Project DART is a series of improvements to Auckland's rail network which, when completed, will allow more frequent and reliable passenger services and improve pedestrian safety around the rail network.
